QA and finished-goods lots

Check a batch against its quality requirements and add the finished goods to inventory. Completing a run creates a finished-goods lot and records what the batch really cost.
Before you start
The run must be in QA Batch. See From Draft to Completed: reserving, starting and recording actuals.
Pass QA and complete the run
- Under Quality Assurance, click Accept or Reject for each check. Add notes or a photo if they help.
- Click Record QA result at the top of the page.
- Check the Expiration date, SKU, Lot # and Package date. Leave Lot # blank and Kerno numbers it, such as FG-1002.
- Click Continue.
- Check the summary and the Storage location. Material usage and Yield / output show any variances; click View details to see them.
- Click Complete production.
What happens next
Kerno adds the good units to finished-goods inventory as a new lot and saves the run. Material stock doesn't change here: it was corrected for your actual usage when the run moved to QA. The run's page shows the lot, the yield variance and a cost breakdown of expected against actual for materials, labor, electricity and overhead. Kerno works out the actual cost per unit over the good units only, and that becomes the product's latest production cost.
Click the lot to open it under Inventory, Finished Goods. The SKU & Lots tab lists it with what was produced, what remains, the package date and the storage location.
Good to know
- A check's decision is final. An owner or admin can reset one with a reason, or you can click Send back to In Progress to redo QA.
- To fail the batch, click Deny batch instead in Review production run.
- Labor uses the actual step times you entered, so a slower step raises the run's cost.
