This page shows you how to add a workspace, switch between workspaces and change a workspace's details later. A workspace is one business in Kerno, with its own products, materials, stock and team.
Add a workspace
- Click the workspace name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the workspace menu.
- Click New workspace.
- Type your business name in Business Name. It appears in the sidebar and on your purchase orders.
- Check Country and Currency. Kerno fills them in for you; change them if they are wrong.
- Under Who will be using Kerno?, choose Just me or We're a team.
- Click Start making.
Kerno sets up the workspace and opens its Home page with the Onboarding Guide, which walks you from your business details to your first finished, costed production run.
Switch between workspaces
- Click the workspace name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Click the workspace you want. The one you are in is marked Current.
Everything you see (products, stock, reports and the rest) belongs to the workspace you are in.
Change your workspace details later
- Open the workspace menu and click Workspace settings (or go to Settings, then Workspace).
- Change the Business name or add a Legal name if your purchase orders should show a different one.
- Change Who uses Kerno if you start working with a team.
The same page also holds your contact details, country and time zone, working days, purchase order branding and texts, the default lot allocation (FIFO, FEFO or LIFO) and how often low-stock alerts repeat. Click Save changes when you are done.
Good to know
- Pick the currency with care. Kerno keeps every cost in the workspace currency, and you can only change the currency before any costs exist. Kerno converts prices from suppliers who use another currency with the rates in Settings, then Currency.
- We're a team adds a reminder. Home shows an "Invite your team" reminder until someone is invited.
- Billing is in the same menu. Open the workspace menu and click Billing.
- Clearing or deleting is permanent. The Danger zone at the bottom of the Workspace settings has Clear data, which removes every record but keeps the workspace and its settings, and Delete workspace, which asks you to type the workspace name first.
